"Hot bods" compete in Knoxville
– There’s good news and bad news about summer coming to a close. The bad news is there are no more beach vacations. The good news is you’re still in perfect “beach body” shape! What better way to close the summer than to learn how to maintain your figure at the 2008 East Tennessee Sports Expo?!
The East Tennessee Sports Expo, set for September 12-13 at the Knoxville Expo Center, is a strength and fitness extravaganza featuring various strength sports competitions and a large vendor area. With events such as National Physique Committee, Inc. (NPC) bodybuilding, figure and fitness competition, power-lifting contest, grappling competitions, C.A.G.E fights and mixed martial arts tournaments, the expo is sure to highlight many areas of fitness expertise.
Knoxville is expecting 500+ athletes for the competition portion of the expo. World-renowned bodybuilder and International Federation of Bodybuilders (I.F.B.B.) Pro Bodybuilder Gunter Schlierkamp will be the guest poser for bodybuilding during the event. Knoxville native Samuel Braga, a six-time world Jujitsu champion, will also be in attendance, as well as Peter Putnam (Mr. USA Champion) and Jessica Paxson-Putnam (Fitness Champion), who have recently starred on the MTV hit show titled, “MADE.” All fitness personalities will be available for autographs, discussions and to meet and greet attendees.
Additionally, demonstrations will be done by Sansation Dancers, Dance Dimensions, Skateboarding Ericules Wrestling, Omega Force Show of Strength with Omega Man Roller DerbyGirls, Sanjuriu Martial Arts, world-record-holder Dan Netherland and Smoky Mountain Fencing Club.
The RUSH Fitness Complex, the Skin Wellness Center, Bio-Engineered Supplements and Nutrition (BSN) Europa and more supplement companies, NOW Foods, Extreme Nutrition and a variety of other vendors will be at the expo. All vendors contribute to the East Tennessee Sports Expo’s theme of motivating adults to learn how to have a healthier lifestyle and achieve the body they want.
“We chose Knoxville as the expo’s home because this is actually our home and our goal is to make it a tradition in the southeast to have a spectacular sports event like this here,” said Ginger Numamaker, event co-promoter.
The event is produced by N & W Productions Group. Tickets for the event are $7 per person.
