World-renowned horse show jumpers compete in Knoxville

Twenty-one of the world's top horse show jumpers will compete in Knoxville this Saturday, July 26, beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Knoxville Coliseum.


The Sequoyah Farms Tennessee Open is a first-time event in Knoxville that will feature world-renowned horse jumpers such as Vick Russell (the "One Armed Bandit"), Aaron Vale (winningest rider of all time), Francisco Martinez (Venezuela Olympic team) and Debi Connor (U.S. Olympic team), among others. Jumpers will compete for $47,000 in prizes.


The event will also feature entertainment for youth, including Tiger Eye Duncan and his World Champion Frisbee Dogs and a "Wild West Show."


Accompanying the horse show is the pre-event Green Gate Gathering, a charity gala benefiting cancer patients and their families facing financial difficulties, as well as providing assistance in early detection. Live entertainment will also be provided by Jaystorm Project Band. Festivities and dinner begin at 5:30 p.m. Tickets for the gala are available by calling Rebecca Miller at (803) 507-7006.


Tickets for Saturday night's Center Ring Seating are $18.50 per person and End Ring Seating is $10 per person. Youth ages 15 and under may sit anywhere in the coliseum for a charge of $5. Tickets may be purchased online at www.CityLeagueInternational.com or at the door.
