Antje Duvekot in concert
Historic Grove Theater, Oak Ridge
Sep 13th, 2008
Boston singer-songwriter Antje Duvekot returns to East Tennessee after her sold-out regional debut last year. Originally from Germany, Duvekot is known for her haunting and intensely beautiful modern folk songs. Neil Dorfsman, producer for Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and Sting, says, "When I first heard Antje I knew I was witnessing something very special. She creates an entire, detailed world in verse, and takes you there with beautiful and understated melody." Antje's studio debut was named "#1 Folk Release of 2006" by the Boston Globe.
Cookeville singer-songwriter Kat Starr and her husband Chance English will open for Antje. Kat's music is rooted in Irish and American folk, but with eclectic influences from classical music to the blues.
The Grove Theater is located at 123 Randolph Road in Oak Ridge. Tickets are $13 in advance, $15 day of show. See www.allenmcbride.com for details and tickets. Tickets are also available at the Ferrell Shop in Jackson Square, Oak Ridge.
