Ralph's World
Bijou Theatre
Sep 7th, 2008
3:00pm - These days, plenty of rockers make kid-friendly records. But there’s only one Ralph Covert, an irrepressibly enthusiastic performer who, in Ralph’s World, rocks just as hard for kids as he does for grown-ups. Formerly of the Chicago rock group The Bad Examples, Covert began writing songs for children shortly after the birth of his daughter. Around that time, he was also teaching young children in a music class that spanned traditional kids’ music and rock, ranging from “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” to “Ziggy Stardust.” Musically, Ralph’s World is similarly diverse, embracing high-energy folk, country, pop, and rock. Albums such as Peggy's Pie Parlor, Holly Jolly Ralph’s World and Green Gorilla, Monster & Me ensure a growing audience of the young and young at heart
