Travel Directions for Knoxville Visitor Center
No matter what brings you to Knoxville, we invite you to stop by the new downtown visitor's center. It's a fun, friendly place with all the maps, brochures and information you need to make the most of your trip. Plus, great coffee, tasty treats and live music daily!
Hours of Operation:
Mon. - Fri.: 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Sat.: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Sun.: Noon to 4 p.m.
Directions to the Knoxville Visitor Center:
From North of Knoxville - Traveling I-75 to I-275 South
Follow I-75 South to I-275 South toward Knoxville.
Continue on I-275 South and follow sign marked James White Parkway.
Take Exit 388A and follow sign marked Summit Hill Drive.
At the end of ramp turn right onto Summit Hill Drive.
Follow Summit Hill Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
Turn left onto Gay Street.
The Knoxville Visitor Center will be on the immediate right.
From Northeast of Knoxville – Traveling I-81 South to I-40 West
Follow I-81 South toward Knoxville to I-40 West.
At mile marker 393 follow DOWNTOWN/LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY (left two lanes).
Take Exit 389 (Broadway/Hall of Fame Drive).
Merge into left lane.
At the 1st traffic light turn left onto Hall of Fame Drive.
Follow Hall of Fame Drive to the 5th traffic light.
Turn right onto Summit Hill Drive.
Continue on Summit Hill Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
Turn left onto Gay Street.
The Knoxville Visitor Center will be on the immediate right.
From South of Knoxville – Traveling I-75 North to I-40 East
Follow I-75 North toward Knoxville to I-40 East.
At mile marker 385 follow sign marked DOWNTOWN/LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY (left two lanes).
Take Exit 388A and follow sign marked Summit Hill Drive.
At the end of ramp turn right onto Summit Hill Drive.
Follow Summit Hill Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
Turn left onto Gay Street.
The Knoxville Visitor Center will be immediate right.
From South of Knoxville – Traveling US Highway 129 North (Alcoa Highway)
Follow Highway 129 North toward Knoxville.
Take the ramp to the right marked I-275 North and immediately take the exit ramp marked 17th Street/Western Avenue.
Continue straight to the 2nd traffic light and turn right onto Western Avenue.
Follow Western Avenue through 2 traffic lights; Western Avenue becomes Summit Hill Drive.
Continue on Summit Hill to the 3rd traffic light and turn right onto Gay Street.
The Knoxville Visitor Center will be on the immediate right.
From East of Knoxville – Traveling I-40 West
Follow I-40 West toward Knoxville.
At mile marker 393 follow DOWNTOWN/LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY (left two lanes).
Take Exit 389 (Broadway/Hall of Fame Drive).
Merge into left lane.
At the 1st traffic light turn left onto Hall of Fame Drive.
Follow Hall of Fame Drive to the 5th traffic light.
Turn right onto Summit Hill Drive.
Continue on Summit Hill Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
Turn left onto Gay Street.
The Knoxville Visitor Center will be on the immediate right.
From West of Knoxville – Traveling I-40 East
Follow I-40 East toward Knoxville.
At mile marker 385 follow sign marked DOWNTOWN/LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY (left two lanes).
Take Exit 388A and follow sign marked Summit Hill Drive.
At the end of ramp turn right onto Summit Hill Drive.
Follow Summit Hill Drive to the 3rd traffic light.
Turn left onto Gay Street.
The Knoxville Visitor Center will be immediate right.
